I sure hope the courts don’t decide it’s acceptable to criminalize thoughts. Because that is exactly what - and all - the trials of Trump are about.
To say Trump “lied” about the election being stolen is to say he knew it was legit but lied to overturn it. It’s to say others knew and can tell and “prove” what he was thinking.
It’s a case to overturn our Constitutional Republic and the rights on which it is (was) based simply because of a dislike for the politics of a man elected by a margin of 77 electoral votes, a margin of over 14%, to the presidency.
It’s to say Trump … knew … he had lost, and then lied about losing. So he must be imprisoned for life. It’s also to say a politician lying is a prosecutable crime…
How anyone could “prove” the thoughts of another is unexplained. How anyone could use the constant lies of the enemedia as some kind of “proof” of his loss is unexplained.
The American people loathe the media; 84% of Americans have a little-to-no confidence in it (1). A third of Americans (2) believe the 2020 election was stolen. But Trump cannot possibly believe that, he must be lying.
To offer as proof of Trump’s thoughts an institution so loathed, and publicly and loudly loathed by Trump, as a basis for what he must be thinking because they said so is just childish.
We’re about to discover how childish our courts are … and whether, as free Americans, we will accept their decision
The idea Trump possibly could get a fair trial is absurd. The entire media has, since 2015, been lying to the entire world about him, as have our intel agencies, our FBI, our DoJ, his former opponents, H. Clinton and “Joe Biden,” and hundreds of NGOs and others existing on the largesse of the blob.
Evidence - real, provable, hard evidence - continues to crop up in 2023 about fraudulent practices in the 2020 election. Are we going to imprison everyone insisting trump lost be use they knew he had won, and have been lying ever since?
The inability of a man to get a free trial is yet another violation of our right to due process. There are no rights not being trampled by the blob.
Trump is being prosecuted for what others say he was thinking. There not only is no proof, there can be no proof.
How do you find evidence of one’s thoughts? You make it up.
This entire sad episode of prosecuting a former president is Americas first prosecution for thoughtcrime.
If it’s successful, it won’t be our last.
