Pundits are beginning to discuss what certainly will be a 2023 “Summer of Love” of “mostly peaceful protests” that likely will cause many deaths and billions of dollars in property damage across the nation. Why? City Councils and mayors have given up policing.
These riots / insurrections mostly will occur in blue metros governed by Democrat policies and politicians elected by those these riots will harm the most. With few exceptions, these metros will withhold law enforcement to give the insurrectionists “room to destroy.”
As many of these cities have for all intents seceded from federal law by declaring their jurisdiction a “sanctuary” - as they did in 1860 (Democrats never change) - federal aid should be withheld to stop the insurrections for which the voters of these metros voted.
Recovery aid also must be refused; the voters in these polities voted for their destruction, they must be allowed to take full responsibility for its costs. When the smoke finally clears and the bodies are bagged-up and transported, the voters in these smoking ruins of civilization must be forced to look at and recognize they’ve got what they voted for: “good and hard.”
What will catalyze this Summer of Love, ‘23? The kindling is being placed by low-level violence, looting, store closings, un-punished teen get-togethers as in the streets of Chicago, your local MacDonalds and various classrooms and airport lounges. But it will take a spark to ignite the real conflagration.
SCOTUS’ anticipated overturning of Affirmative Action (which will impact DEI, as well) may be that spark.
This restoration of equal rights in academia and the workplace, the termination of these violations of 14A-guaranteed equal protection, are long overdue.
The African American community has been prioritized in education and employment for a half-century. That they have refused to take advantage of this education to gain the merit necessary for any culture wishing to progress, is past-evident. AA and DEI are nothing more nor less than a race to mediocrity, as is any prioritization of less merit over more.
It’s very likely that tossing AA (as seems to be the odds-on betting) will be the final holding announced in June. One hopes the justices will have removed themselves and their families to safe, undisclosed locations and hired private security for themselves, their families, and their homes & possessions. The tradition of respecting the rights of those with differing opinions is long-gone.
We should not be surprised to see a repetition by the (words matter) communist left, of the Dobbs protests, only more violent.
Dobbs correctly returned a 10th Amendment issue to the states. Overturning Affirmative Action will be a repeat of the overturning of Plessy v Ferguson, a repeat of saying, no, the separation by races is not equal. A left demanding separate dorms, graduations and employment categorizations cannot stand the idea of overturning Plessy… again.
The refusal by the Administration to enforce the law against picketing at the homes of SCOTUS Justices following Dobbs should be seen as a warning by Democrats to the judiciary of their lack of concern over the lives and property of those who disagree with them.
The lack of attention by Biden’s AG Garland only will - only can - (was planned and designed to ?) ensure capture of SCOTUS by the left, the primary institution through which they have been able to advance their agenda since 1933. This is to ensure the message is sent both to the mob and to current and future justices that the lives of justices and their families are at stake… and that the government will not be there to protect them.
Any expectation that a SCOTUS decision overturning AA will not be leaked seems naive. Not identifying and punishing the leaker is just one more example, as if one more is needed, that not enforcing the rules always leads to the chaos those rules are designed to prevent.
If the Court acts in support of the Constitution, as it did in Dobbs, it will be attacking the quickly-accelerating partnership of corporations and government to control society in their “public- private partnership,” which is the definition of fascism. It needs to be attacked if America is to remains free.
The full pressure of the federal government, its captive corporations, and its Brownshirt thugs in BLM and Antifa, will not allow a new repeal of Plessy to go un-answered.
That this will occur as the 2024 campaigns are underway only will add gasoline to the fire.
